FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J.—Influential eyecare exec, Dean Butler, will be the featured guest on tonight’s scheduled edition of “Power Hour,” the free weekly online radio talk show hosted by Gary Gerber, OD, founder of The Power Practice, the practice management company.

Butler founded LensCrafters in the U.S., as well as the Vision Express stores (162 stores in 24 countries). He is on the board of directors of Glasses Direct, the online eyeglass seller and is currently on the board of other companies, such as Adlens Ltd., which are involved in disruptive technologies in eyewear, Gerber pointed out. “Dean will be taking questions as well as sharing his views of where eyecare is headed, based on where it’s been,” he added.

The “Power Hour,” which can be heard via Skype or phone every Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, is a live discussion vehicle for current practice-building events in optometry, political viewpoints and clinical topics. The show welcomes guests, both in and out of the optometric profession. Listeners can dial in to “The Power Hour” at 530–881–1400 Access Code, 611964# or listen in from computers via Skype. More info and details of how to access the show are found here. Power Hour sessions, which launched earlier this year, are archived on The Power Practice site. On topics ranging from social media, to managed vision care and staff hiring issues, users can click to listen to past shows or download segments on iTunes.
