Latest News In Progress: A Major Initiative to Tell 'The Story of Vision' By Staff Thursday, September 18, 2014 12:30 AM LAS VEGAS—Across continents, in science laboratories, human eyecare missions, medical offices and technology companies, the field of “sight” touches billions of people. And, in fact, a major new initiative, involving award-winning filmmakers and producers and an advisory board of medical, business and science advisors, is underway via Koenig Films, Public Broadcasting Systems and other contributors. This is the creation of “Sight: The Story of Vision,” a documentary and multimedia project due to air in the Fall of 2015, with the potential of being viewed by millions around the world. The film will be comprised of four main story threads—medicine, technology, science and humanity, woven into a story of how the world learned and discovered how vision works as well as how the world corrects, restores and maintains sight. Previews of the project will be featured throughout Vision Expo West this week as participating advisor companies and supporters look to spread the word about the project to attendees here.
