announce the winners of the Great American Optician Video Contest.

LAKELAND, Tenn.—The celebrity judges of the Opticians Association of America’s (OAA) Great American Optician Video Contest have been named honorary lifetime members of the national opticianry organization. Robert Irvine (Food Network), Randy Jackson (“American Idol”), Amy Schneider (Eyes of Faith), and Cynthia Shapiro (Cinzia Designs) have been designated as Honorary Lifetime Members of the Opticians Association of America for their service in focusing attention on the importance of good vision health and safety, their promotion of the profession of opticianry, and in determining the winners of the Great American Optician Video Contest, according to an announcement by the OAA.

The YouTube video contest invited anyone in the U.S. to submit a 30- to 90-second video conveying to a consumer what opticians are and what they do. Over 60 videos were submitted in the 45 days the contest was open earlier this year. Announced at the Zyloware booth at Vision Expo West last month, the winners—First Place “An Optician’s Main Focus” by Adam Chizmar, Second Place “What is an Optician?” by Matthew Denton, and Third Place “Clearly an Optician” by Michael Beaudoin—can be viewed here. The other video entries have been posted on the OAA YouTube Channel.
