BUDAPEST—The European Academy of Optometry and Optics conference, which concluded here last week, hosted a record number of attendees at its seventh annual event. Over 300 optometrists and opticians from 44 countries attended the event held May 14-17, 2015.

The three-day program featured 36 sessions on topics that included optical humanitarianism, treating patients with glaucoma, managing dry eye patients, and age-related macular degeneration. The conference, which also featured the European Council of Optometry and Optics’ spring meeting, included 12 clinical workshops held at the Hoya Faculty Education and Experience Centre and Semmelweis University. Keynote lectures presented the latest developments in the treatment of myopia and children’s usage of contact lenses.

The Academy’s eighth annual conference will be held in Berlin, May 19-22, 2016.
