SAN ANTONIO, Texas— Davis Vision has launched Davis Vision Television, “ DVTV,” a new website to “deliver a heightened interactive experience,” according to a statement released last week from the managed vision care company. DVTV includes a virtual try-on feature with over 1,000 frames, educational eye health videos, social media connectivity, a Visionworks retail locator, and a DV LookBook magazine showcasing Davis Vision’s exclusive collection of private label and designer frames, with style tips and a fashion guide.

Davis Vision president, Celina Burns, described the company’s impetus for launching DVTV to VMail: “Today’s consumer wants an interactive and engaging experience. Davis Vision is committed to continually meeting customers where they want to be met. As a leader in eye health care, we want to offer our members an online experience that provides tools and information that address eye health education, fashion, style and social interaction. DVTV aligns to Davis Vision’s mission that cost should never be an issue and everyone should have access to quality, style and fit in eyewear, and easy access to eye health care.”

The virtual try-on feature’s 1,000 frames currently include an inventory of Davis Vision and Visionworks bestsellers, according to the company. “We will continue to add more frames based upon retail trends along with other functionality, as well as new tools and videos to the DVTV site to keep it relevant and fresh,” Burns said. When asked if people who virtually try frames will be able to purchase them directly from the site, Burns told VMail, “This is the first step in our consumerism strategy which will continue to evolve.”

While the provider locator will launch with only Visionworks locations, independent providers will be added later, according to the company. “We started the first phase of the platform roll-out to include Visionworks retail location search capability. The independent provider search functionality will follow,” Burns told VMail.

Davis Vision has been providing comprehensive vision benefits for over 50 years, and currently serves more than 21 million funded vision care members with eyecare programs nationwide through a provider network of optometrists, ophthalmologists, and dispensing locations at more than 46,000 points of access, in both private and retail settings.
