Andrew Alcorn.

LINTHICUM, Md. – The board of directors of Superior Vision Services, Inc. has elected Andrew Alcorn chairman of the board of Superior Vision. Alcorn succeeds Rick Corbett, who recently retired from Superior.

As previously reported by VMail Superior Vision announced its new management structure and unveiled a new visual identity over a year ago, following the managed vision care company’s merger with Block Vision, originally finalized in December that year. Alcorn had been president and CEO of Block Vision. Superior Vision Services, Inc. is organized in two operating divisions, one focused on employee benefit programs, and the other dedicated to health plan customers.

Regarding Alcorn’s new role, Kirk Rothrock, CEO of Superior Vision Services, Inc., said, “Andy was the architect of the growth and success of Block Vision over his 20+ year career with the organization. In his new role, Andy will represent Superior Vision to all of our stakeholders and will play an active role as an external representative of our company. Andy is a well-respected member of the vision and vision benefits industries and he recently served as the chairman of the National Association of Specialty Health Organizations. I am excited to be partnering with Andy to continue to grow our business.”

Alcorn told VMail, “I’m very excited about this new role. Our merger has exceeded our expectations, bringing together the talent of two great organizations with similar cultures and an enhanced management team to provide continued service to our customers and providers.”
