Full time position for a busy, multi-specialty practice.  Join a team of experienced, skilled and fun OphthalmologyTechnicians in a multi-specialty training/teaching environment. 

 

Duties:
 

Perform all aspects of exam including:  recording medical history, tonometry, visual acuity, pachymetry and lensometry, slit-lamp exam, pupil check, extraocular muscle movements, color vision, stereo testing, visual fields(CVF, HVF, GVF), Amsler Grid, Refraction, OCT, Fundus photography, IOL master and Pentacam.

Set up and assist with minor office procedures.

Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records while keeping patient information confidential.

Counsels patients with use of drops, contact lenses, drugs, and questions about surgery.

Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance,calling for repairs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Serves and protects the ophthalmogy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Enhances ophthalmology practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in the medical field is preferred.

Effective computer skills are a must, experience with electronic medical records a plus.

The ability to work independently with minimal guidance as needed and work well under pressure. 
Strong interpersonal and time management skills. 
Open to change and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary

One or more years experience as an Ophthalmic Technician with basic exam skills, preferred

Formal training and certification such as COA or COT a strong plus!
