I can’t believe the year is almost over! It never feels like there is enough time to get all the things I want to do done.

Thankfully, I always see this time of year as a valuable time for reflection. What did I accomplish in the last 12 months? What should I have accomplished that I didn’t? What do I want to accomplish next year? How am I going to go about doing that?

Figuring out the answers to those questions really helps me figure out what my priorities are and what I need to concentrate on to get things done in the coming year, both personally and professionally.

I think these can be really valuable questions when it comes to plans for your business as well.

In terms of accomplishments, turn to page 26 for my story, Reading Glasses, which highlights several eyewear related books that have come out recently. Talk about reflecting on the past, these books cover everything from the milestones of some individual brands to a comprehensive (and beautiful) history of the eyewear industry.

And if you are looking more toward the future for some valuable tools for your business, don’t forget to read our cover story, New World Order on page 49. It’s part one of a two-part series and focuses on advancements in online ordering tools and their increasing usage. Look for part two in December.

Maybe you still feel like it’s just too early to start thinking about 2012 and perhaps you can only handle contemplating the holidays? We want to know what creative ideas you’ve come up with in your business for holiday promotions and we’re willing to pay up, the more fun the better! Turn to the Endpage. for more details.

And you know the old saying that time flies when you’re having fun? Well, I guess we must all be having a blast! And just think… we start the whole crazy ride over again in January…
