For many, the start of a new year inevitably brings about New Year’s resolutions. Some people resolve to lose weight, some to save more money or reduce debt, while others plan on finally pursuing a goal or dream they have been putting off.

I myself have a laundry list of resolutions for 2010. In fact, it is numbered in order of importance and each resolution has sub-sections with bullet points detailing all my specific action plans. What can I say? I’m a list maker.

I realize it is extremely ambitious to want to change so many things in one year and that my success rate will most likely be less than 50 percent. However, I believe it is a good practice to write down the things you hope to accomplish so you remember what was important and you can reference it when your enthusiasm wavers. Besides, I really enjoy being able to cross things off a list.

At Vision Monday, we too have some resolutions for the New Year. Though we have always tried to be as accessible as possible to our readers, for 2010 we’ve launched the Vision Monday fan page on Facebook. Now we can interact directly with each and everyone of you in a real and meaningful way. Also, coming soon, you will also be able to find out what’s happening in the optical industry via Vision Monday’s editors on Twitter.

As exciting as these are, they are just two of the amazing things we’ve got in store for you in the coming year. We’ve got lots of other great surprises coming your way, both electronically and in print.

I hope this has gotten you thinking about what you’d like to accomplish in 2010. If you’re still struggling, then be sure to check out this issue’s cover story “10 Inspirational Ideas for the New Year” to learn about the hottest trends to build your business in the year ahead.
