NEW YORK—Tickets are now on sale for EyeRock, the optical industry fundraiser for nonprofit vision care groups, the event’s organizers announced.

This year’s concert, a benefit for New Eyes for the Needy (www.new-eyes.org), will take place on Saturday, March 21 at 8:30 pm at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square. It will feature The EyeRock Band, including, for the first time, optometry student performers. As an added attraction, Grammy-nominated singer and guitarist Lisa Loeb will make a guest appearance.

In addition to music and dancing, an electric guitar signed by the members of Pink Floyd will be auctioned during the show, according to a spokesperson for New Eyes for the Needy, a nonprofit organization that provides new prescription eyeglasses to the poor living in the U.S.

“New Eyes does incredible work helping impoverished children and adults get the glasses they need to succeed,” said Loeb “and I’m happy and proud to be part of the evening.”

Like the members of The EyeRock Band, which is comprised of musicians from throughout the eyewear and eyecare industry, Loeb also works in optical. She is the founder and creator of Lisa Loeb Eyewear Collection from Classique Eyewear.

“New Eyes is happy to work again with The EyeRock Band, and we’re so excited to have Lisa Loeb as our guest performer. It takes a lot of people donating their talent and time to make this a successful fundraising event for our mission and New Eyes is thankful for everyone’s efforts. We’re looking forward to a fun night with a lot of amazing music and great dancing,” said Jean Gajano, executive director of New Eyes for the Needy. “There are still so many children and adults who are not able to afford eyeglasses and this benefit event will help improve the lives of those less fortunate.”

EyeRock sponsors to date include National Vision, Transitions Optical, Davis Vision, Jobson Medical Information, Marcolin, Suja Juice, The Vision Council/Reed Exhibitions, Aerial Vision, ClearVision, Essilor, Kenmark, Marco, McGee Group, MCQ, Modo Eyewear, Nouveau Eyewear, Ocuco, Shop2Care, Tura, United Healthcare, Younger Optics and Zyloware.

Denise Mogil, Costco’s U.S. optical director of professional services and New Eyes board member, is leading the corporate fundraising efforts for EyeRock. “I am proud to be part of this exciting effort and am so happy to have so many companies supporting this along with me,” she said.
