ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The total U.S. market for vision care products and services is up in all categories for the 12-month period ending March 2015, according to the latest statistics available from The Vision Council's VisionWatch report. As the chart indicates, lenses grew by the largest percentage (up 6.8 percent), followed by examinations (up 5.9 percent) and frames (up 4.5 percent).

Includes dollars spent at all optical locations on the sale of either spectacle lenses (regular Rx and Rx sun), frames, sunglasses (plano only), over-the-counter readers, or revenue earned from refractive surgery or eye examinations. This number does not include sunglass clips and reflects the dollars spent only by U.S. residents 18 and older. Optical retail includes leased optical spaces in department stores, mass merchandisers with optical locations, optical chains, and independents with optical locations.
