Stanton Optical operates 44 locations in 14 states with plans to add more than ten per year.

PALM SPRINGS, Fla.—Stanton Optical, a leading optical retailer headquartered here, plans to add more than 10 stores each year for the next several years to the 44 locations the company currently operates in 14 states. To do so, the company has embarked on a journey of investing heavily in its people, stores and lab.

One key aspect of the company’s growth is to add technology and people to its in-house Rx lab. This started with a recent addition of Matt Ontko as director of in-house lab services. Daniel Stanton, company co-founder, said, “Bringing Matt and his experience on board to help run our lab was a key addition to our management team. His experience will help drive our lab to the next level.”

Investing heavily in technology is one way Stanton plans to achieve its aggressive growth plans.

In order to continue to meet Stanton Optical’s service levels and achieve the turn times they strive for, Ontko has added several key pieces of equipment and technology to the lab. “We have partnered with Schneider Optical Machines as our key equipment supplier to help support the growth we are experiencing,” said Ontko.

“We had some Schneider equipment in place before, so when it came to evaluating equipment suppliers for our next growth phase it was a no-brainer for us. Schneider continues to give us every processing advantage that we need to achieve our targets and is a true partner in every sense of the word,” continued Ontko. “We recently added several pieces of Schneider equipment including automated blocking and edging, and we are excited to become a fully digital enabled lab.”

Each location stocks over 3,000 frames.

With Stanton Optical locations growing rapidly throughout the U.S. and with stores open six and seven days a week, Stanton Optical knew it was critical to ensure the lab could keep up. The latest investments in people and technology should help ensure that Stanton Optical is poised to continue its upward trajectory.
