ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The percentage of consumers who are "very likely" and "extremely likely" to buy a complete new pair of prescription eyeglasses is at its highest level since 2012, according to the most recent statistics available from The Vision Council's VisionWatch Consumer Barometer for the six-month period ending September 2014.

Almost one-quarter (24.8 percent) of those surveyed said that they are "very likely" or "extremely likely" to buy a new pair of prescription eyeglasses within the next six months following the period ending September 2014. That's the highest aggregated percentage for those two categories since the six-month period ending March 2012.
