PITTSBURGH, PA—Eyetique, the optical boutique located here, held an extravagant event last month to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its partnership with luxury eyewear brand Oliver Peoples. Owner and founder Norman Childs threw the party in honor of the company, whose product he has been selling since he persistently requested—and was rejected the first two times—back when the company started in 1987. The professional and personal bond Childs has with the brand allowed for a feeling of excitement beyond that of a typical trunk show.

“It’s not just a trunk show, it’s an event,” Childs told VM. “It means a lot more to me than just having a party. We have a history together.”

Described by Childs as a “blow out” with over 500 people in attendance, the event featured Porsche-chauffered models in Oliver Peoples eyewear walking a red carpet lined with Paparazzi and guests outside the store. DJ Bonics, the disc jockey of the contemporary hip hop star Wiz Khalifa, provided the musical entertainment while company colleagues and clientele mingled over cocktails and copious amounts of finger foods.
