FRONHAUSEN, Germany— Schneider GmbH & Co., a leading manufacturer of equipment used in the production of precision optics and ophthalmics, has signed an agreement to acquire the shares of Team Henrich & Krall GmbH, an optical equipment manufacturer based in Dreieich, Germany. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. The overall structure of Team Henrich & Krall remains intact, and existing customers continue to be fully supported. Company co-founders Dieter Henrich and Jurgen Krall will remain CEOs, according to Schneider, based here. The acquisition of Team H&K expands Schneider’s product range as a full solution provider. Each step in ophthalmic processing, beginning with order entry, followed by lab management, surfacing, cleaning, as well as coating and edging can now be performed on Schneider equipment. “Customers today are looking for one responsible technology partner because of quality, cost and interfacing problems they encounter when combining different systems and equipment,” said Gunter Schneider, president and CEO of Schneider. “With the acquisition of Team H&K we are now able to offer all the machines and software needed to build up a complete processing lab—ready to start production without costly adaptions.” The acquisition by Schneider also creates significant opportunities for Team H&K. “Being part of Schneider we will be able to market our equipment on a large scale and serve customers around the world,” said Dieter Henrich. Jurgen Krall remarked, “Now we feel that we are well positioned for continued growth in the worldwide market.” In the coming months, Schneider employees will be trained to service Team H&K products. Team H&K was founded in 1992 by Dieter Henrich and Jurgen Krall. The company, which is particularly well-known in the European market, has developed a portfolio of automated solutions for deblocking, cleaning and tinting.
