SAN DIEGO— OD Excellence (ODX), the sponsors of the 3rd Annual International Vision Conference (IVC) which was held here earlier this month, reported that hundreds of doctors, their staff and vendors attended the three-day event which incorporated information, training and exchange at the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel from July 11 to 13.

“The International Vision Conference is an excellent example of the magic that can happen when you bring the best and brightest people from all corners of our industry together,” said Jerry Lieblein, OD, CEO of ODX. “The 2013 Conference grew dramatically in the numbers of attendees, vendors and overall delight with the event. ODX is proud to have sponsored and worked so hard to deliver unmatched value back to the optometric community.”

The 2013 IVC featured a wide array of educational offerings including one-on-one coaching for doctors, office staff certification and topics ranging from coding and billing to health care reform. The tracks were combined with over 50 leading vendors who exhibited their latest products and technologies.

The 2013 Practice of the Year Award, sponsored by VSP Global, was also presented at the meeting to Albina Optometric from Chicago, Illinois. Chosen by a special panel from a highly competitive field, Albina Optometric was recognized for an extraordinary 35 percent growth in revenue since the practice has been a part of the ODX Practice Enhancement Program.

Planning for the 2014 International Vision Conference has already begun, Lieblein said. The 2014 event will be held once again at the Manchester Grand Hyatt on San Diego Bay, July 31 to Aug. 2.
