MELVILLE, N.Y.— Marchon Eyewear has launched a new sales division that will focus on servicing the sporting goods sector in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region, including action sports, general sports and lifestyle retail.

To be known as Marchon EMEA, the product portfolio will consist of performance and lifestyle sunglasses, and snow goggles, for Nike Vision as well as action sports sunglasses, snow goggles and MX goggles for Dragon Alliance.

The new team will be headed by Gunther Herrmann, who has over 20 years’ experience in sporting goods distribution and has had several positions within Marchon, the announcement said.

To support growth in EMEA, Craig Smith will become the EMEA sales and marketing manager for Dragon. With 11 years’ experience in the action sports industry, Craig has worked as Dragon’s U.K. brand development manager for the past six years.

In addition, Eric Brendel will be joining the team as EMEA sales and marketing manager for Nike Vision in the sporting goods channel. Brendel has 12 years’ experience in the action sports and sporting goods channel.

The new Marchon EMEA team will work closely with the Nike vision team at the Marchon global headquarters in New York as well as with J.C. Clenet who oversees Dragon’s international business from Carlsbad, Calif. The division has offices in Amsterdam, Munich and London along with local customer and central distribution from Marchon’s European distribution center in Amsterdam.

Marchon Sports will be servicing retailers throughout existing action sports distribution partners and sales teams as well as utilizing direct sales teams to cover all relevant sporting goods channels, the company said.
