Dancing with the Stars has just finished its 14th Season and a new champion has been named. In this edition of Bold Face we highlight three stars, including the most recent winner, who have famously strapped on their dancing shoes…

Athletes have historically been more successful as a group than other celebrities on Dancing with the Stars and this season was no exception. Athletes have won six competitions and placed second four times; in other words, more than one third of the athletes who have appeared on the show have finished either first or second. NFL player and Superbowl Champion Donald Driver took home the Mirror Ball Trophy this year with partner Peta Murgatroyd. Donald will continue his career with the Green Bay Packers in the 2012 season, no doubt he’ll be pulling out these Nike MDL. 92 sunglasses from Marchon when he hits the field…


Clearly not everyone who appears on Dancing… is an athlete but that doesn’t mean they don’t get the same kind of injuries. Extra! host Maria Menounos, who appeared this season along with Driver and made it all the way to number four, broke two ribs while dancing with partner Derek Hough and also had stress fractures in both her feet. The pretty lady stuck it out like a champ though and was all smiles when the paparazzi caught her leaving dance practice one day in March wearing Converse’s The American Dream sunglasses from REM Eyewear…



Speaking of pretty ladies, Kim Kardashian appeared in Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars, paired up with the reigning champion from the previous season, Mark Ballas. Unfortunately, a proven winner at her side could not keep her in the game though, she was eliminated in week three. Unlike her brother, Rob Kardashian, who fared much better and came in second later on in Season 13. Dancing is clearly not one of Kim’s strengths but you know what is? Looking good.
