RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—A new technology partnership that integrates Eyefinity’s practice management portfolio with Modernizing Medicine, Inc.’s Electronic Medical Assistant cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) solution will launch Eyefinity EHR later this year. Built by optometrists and other medical professionals, this next-generation cloud-based technology will provide eyecare practitioners with electronic health record software that features an adaptive learning engine and intuitive user interface, the company said.

Eyefinity EHR’s cloud-based documenting will provide access to information across multiple locations, anywhere there is an internet connection, will eliminate the need for on-site server hardware and will include built-in data backup. Other features include native iPad technology, enhanced communication that includes intra-office e-mail and built-in call and task buttons for ordering tests, and adaptive learning that adjusts to diagnosis style and eliminates the need for templates.

The new technology combines Eyefinity’s practice management and EHR solution experience with Modernizing Medicine’s expertise providing EHR technology to more than 900 physician practices across the country in specialty markets that include ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. Eyefinity, a division of VSP Global is a leading software provider for meaningful use federal stimulus payments, and Modernizing Medicine was listed as number 47 on Forbes annual ranking of America’s Most Promising Companies this year.
