Django Unchained, a western drama from Quentin Tarantino, is an adventurous story about Django, (Jamie Foxx), a slave turned bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife, Broomhilda, played by the gorgeous Kerry Washington, from a brutal plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). With the help of a German bounty hunter, portrayed by award winner Christoph Waltz, Django succeeds in truly epic Tarantino fashion. Still in theaters, the movie earned five Academy Award nominations and won Christoph Waltz the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Tarantino the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Washington has begun earning a reputation for impeccable red carpet style and though she can regularly be seen on the small screen in the ABC drama, Scandal, you can see her immediately right here wearing the Chloé CE601S sun style from Marchon…
Oz the Great and Powerful, out on March 8, serves as a prequel to L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and indirectly to the 1939 MGM film, The Wizard of Oz. This film takes place 20 years before the events of the 1939 film and is not directly based on any book in the Oz series, but fans will find familiarity in the opening sequence, which is presented in black and white, and deposits our protagonist, magician Oscar "Oz" Diggs from Kansas, into the colorful Land of Oz by way of tornado. In the 2013 movie, Rachel Weisz plays Evanora, a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the East, made famous in the 1939 film when Dorothy's house lands on her leaving only her magic ruby slippers. Shot in 3D and IMAX, the movie will no doubt be a visual feast for the eyes. Also a feast for the eyes? The beautiful Weisz (a real life “Bond” girl!) just out running errands in the Tom Ford FT 0180 sunglasses from Marcolin…
Superman never gets old. I’m sure being from Krypton leaves him eternally youthful, but more literally, the franchise can also always use another reboot. Enter Man of Steel, the latest Superman origin story starring the young and handsome Henry Cavill. Cast as the All-American legend, Clark Kent/Superman, this British born rising star is the first non-American actor to be chosen for the role. Cavill was on the shortlist for the 2006 film Superman Returns, but lost the part to Brandon Routh. According to Zack Snyder, the director, Cavill was “the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.” He certainly looks the part and Bold Face knows where she will be on June 14 when the movie is released. Until then, we’ll all just have to drool over Cavill in his JOE Joseph Abboud JOE4018 frames from Altair right here.
