SCENE + HEARD Giorgio Armani and Luxottica Fete Partnership with Milan Fashion Week Event By Deirdre Carroll Thursday, March 7, 2013 3:00 PM By Deirdre Carroll MILAN—On Feb. 23, Giorgio Armani and Luxottica celebrated their renewed partnership and the launch of the new Spring Summer 2013 Eyewear collections with an exclusive event that took place in the Armani Teatro during Milan Fashion Week. Vision Monday was on hand for the special event. Numerous international guests previewed the Giorgio Armani and the Emporio Armani Eyewear collections and were taken through some of the key steps in the manufacturing process thanks to the presence of Luxottica artisans, who demonstrated the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each frame. “The amount of emotion, certainly from Luxottica’s side but also from the Armani side, going back into this partnership and the passion that people put into this new collection, we are so happy to be back and working together,” said Fabio d’Angelantonio, chief marketing officer and head of the retail luxury and sun business for Luxottica Group. “ There is an amount of legacy in this partnership that will be very visible through the product and through the passion we put into all the things we do.” Singer Fergie attended the evening together with live music by “Say Lou Lou,” the Scandinavian twin sisters music duo, as well as actress and DJ Chelsea Leyland.
