PFO Global Names Jethmalani Executive VP of R&D

IRVING, Texas—PFO Global has named Jagdish Jethmalani, PhD executive vice president of research and development. He will be responsible for leading the company’s R&D team and overseeing all R&D and technology projects.

Dr. Jethmalani comes to PFO Global from Ophthonix, Inc. where he served as director of material development for four years, then six years as vice president of research and development. Under his leadership at Ophthonix, the new product portfolio increased from two products in 2006 to more than 15 product offerings in 2012.

Formerly, Dr. Jethmalani was a founding scientist at Calhoun Vision, Inc. where he developed novel biocompatible silicone formulation for a novel light adjustable (LAL) intraocular lens (IOL) whose refractive power can be non-invasively adjusted in-vivo. Prior to that, he was a staff scientist and post-doctoral fellow at California Institute of Technology. ■
