AMITYVILLE, NY – New York Eye has announced an exclusive licensing agreement with Eddie Bauer, the 90 year-old active, outdoor lifestyle brand. The contract is for six years ending Dec. 31, 2016 and covers distribution to North and Central America as well as the Caribbean. New York Eye will launch the eyewear line to the optical market this month with a sunglass line planned for the future.

"In a market oversaturated with high-priced luxury eyewear options, New York Eye seeks to reach out to savvy consumers looking for top quality, value, and service with the Eddie Bauer brand,” said Arthur Jankolovits, president of New York Eye. “Eddie Bauer Eyewear will be positioned as the go-to brand for today's consumer looking for updated classic designs. It will set the standard for being the finest value brand choice in outdoor lifestyle eyewear."

According to the company, the Eddie Bauer Eyewear will be a “value-infused optical collection designed with the same uncompromising quality and performance standards set by Eddie Bauer, ‘The Original Outdoor Outfitter.’”

Established in 1920 in Seattle, Eddie Bauer is a specialty retailer that sells sportswear, outerwear, gear and accessories for the active outdoor lifestyle. Eddie Bauer products are available at approximately 350 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada, through catalog sales and online at www.eddiebauer.com.
