LAS VEGAS—With the start of Vision Expo West nearly a month away, attendees and exhibitors alike are beginning to plan their time at the show. Following is a list highlighting some of the major parties, receptions and special events. So mark your calendars and join your colleagues throughout the industry at the following events:

3rd Annual Swing Fore Sight Golf Tournament

The 3rd Annual Swing Fore Sight Golf Tournament benefiting Prevent Blindness America at Vision Expo West is set for Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas. Last year’s golf tournament raised more than $109,000.

Optical Laboratories Association (OLA) Hall of Fame Banquet
OLA Directors’ Choice Award Recipient and Hall of Fame Honorees
6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Kick off the OLA 2010 Annual Meeting the right way by joining labs and suppliers to celebrate the rich heritage of the optical lab industry. Join OLA members for the open-bar reception, buffet dinner, and presentation of the Hall of Fame Honorees and Directors’ Choice Award Recipient for 2010. Opening Night Blush Bash

9:00pm – 11:00 p.m.

Labapalooza
Venetian Ballrooms TBD
6:15 – 8:00 p.m.

Labapalooza will feature a preview of Vision Monday’s 2010 Top Labs report, including the Top Labs ranking. LabTalk magazine will present its Optical Laboratory Web Site of the Year Award and Trash to Treasure contest, in which lab personnel are invited to create artwork made from finishing pads.
