WellPoint serves more than 37 million people in its affiliated health plans, and nearly 67 million people through its subsidiaries, some of which already carry the Anthem brand, such as Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross.

NEW ORLEANS—In a case that goes back to 1992, when Walmart first began leasing space to Texas optometrists, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit decided Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, to eliminate a $1.4 million penalty that had been levied against the retailing giant for encouraging optometrists to extend their business hours.

's latest Optical Business Barometer (OBB) report, the overall optical business rating in July 2014 rose to 3.77, a very slight increase from the June 2014 rating of 3.76. The July 2014 rating also shows an increase from the July 2013 rating of 3.63, the July 2012 and 2011 ratings of 3.66 and the July 2010 of 3.55.
