Southern California College of Optometry Appoints New Dean

FULLERTON, Calif.—The
Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) has announced that Stan Woo, OD, MS, FAAO will serve as the new Dean of Optometry, his term beginning in July 2013.
Dr. Woo will join SCCO after serving the
University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) as chief of the Vision Rehabilitation Service, founding director of the UEI Center for Sight Enhancement and director of the Residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation. He has also served as president of the
Texas Optometric Association and volunteered with organizations such as the
National Board of Examiners in Optometry, the
Department of Veterans Administration, the
American Optometric Association and the
American Academy of Optometry.
Woo received his OD at the
University of California at Berkeley, his MA in vision science at UHCO and will be completing an executive MBA with a concentration in medical and health care management from
Rice University in May. He is also a diplomate in optometry with the
American Board of Optometry as well as in low vision with the American Academy of Optometry.
