Education, Events and Exhibits Define SECO Now and as It Expands

March 19, 2012

SECO’s new president, Ronald R. Foreman, OD, (l) and immediate past president, Neil Draisin, OD, cut the ribbon to open the exhibit hall while other SECO executives looked on.

ATLANTA—SECO International held here Feb. 29 to March 4 attracted more than 8,000 eyecare professionals to its more than 400 hours of continuing education, 300 marketplace exhibitors and over 50 social and affiliate events. One of the world’s largest optometry events, SECO has plans to expand nationally and internationally in 2012.

SECO’s new president, Ronald Foreman, OD, told Vision Monday that he has four primary goals for his presidency—“to meet the needs of member states, to continue to evolve our education, to continue to ensure that our industry partners keep SECO part of their business models, and to see if we can find another methodology where we can improve the provision of CE to approved providers rather than individual courses. I am excited for the year ahead and appreciate the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization.”
